Staying in Touch with Residents

Hi everyone! Fall is in the air and we know our leaves may not change but our community is making a lot of changes! You all may have noticed that the landscaping at our Dykes Road entrance is under construction. We have gone under contract with a local company named Davey Tree, and we are replacing some of the current plants and mulch for a fresh new look.
However, we are not discarding the healthy old plants; we are recycling them and planting them in different areas of the community. We are also replacing the mulch at the Dykes Road entrance and eventually the Stirling Rd. Entrance as well, with River Rock, which in the long run, will literally save us thousand by not needing to replace the mulch every three months. You will also notice that Magical Displays is starting to put up our holiday lights! Our entrances are going to be beautiful and festive!

In the last newsletter we mentioned our community documents expire on January 1st 2015, and that we were actively collecting information and suggestions for changes to the rules, regulations, laws and governing covenants currently being enforced by the Homeowners Association current by laws. We received many great suggestions and are in the process of working with our HOA attorney to put together a list of possible changes. Once the list of amendments are compiled and are legally reviewed, a letter will be mailed to every residents’ home for your vote. Again, this is our chance to enforce all the necessary changes that we have discussed for years. Thank you for your input!

It was suggested at our last meeting to inform people who are waiting for the buses to arrive in the morning and are parked on the sides of the road in Waverly by the Dykes Rd. Entrance, not to have your lights on, they are blinding the drivers who are driving thru that area and cannot see the kids walking. Please only use parking lights while waiting for the buses.

And don’t forget to sign up for the online “Nextdoor.com” site. We are happy to announce, that so far this year we have 129 residents signed up on the website and are linked up to five other developments surrounding us. Because of your active participation in this site, we were able to help several lost dogs find their way home; items have been sold and garage sales have been announced, and good reliable vendors names have been shared! But more importantly, there has been better communication between the residents and valuable ideas and suggestions have been shared. If you are interested in signing up, go to the link on the home page of our website, www.waverlyhundred.org and simply click JOIN Nextdoor Waverly Hundred. Once you join, you can also invite your neighbors by clicking on INVITE NEIGHBORS and click onto Postcards and Nextdoor takes care of the rest. On www.ivanhoecivicassociation.com/vendor_corner.htm all the vendors referred to on nextdoor waverly hundred are listed on that page.

We encourage all residents to come to the meetings, visit our website at www.waverlyhundred.org, and make sure we have your current email address. Let’s remember to keep our lawns mowed, our houses painted, our roofs and sidewalks clean, our boats and RV’s out of the front yard, and most of all, our families SAFE! Please write to info@waverlyhundred.org with any comments, or questions or anything you would like to share on the website. See you nextdoor! Tina and Val
